It's nice to have cell service without having to install an exterior antennae. Once the initialization was complete, the unit works great. My MAC ID included some zeros that I may have took for the letter "O" at first, so the issue of registering the correct MAC ID was probably on my end. I think I may have given them an incorrect MAC ID at first though, so that's on me. Also, the unit's MAC ID needs to be registered with Verizon Wireless on an account. Access to the website is explained in the Quick Start Guide (Accessing Your Network Extender's Admin Website) and can be opened after initialization step 6.
I found it helpful to use the admin website to see what was happening during initialization.

The initialization of the unit kept getting stuck on step 8a.
